Archive & Search
Bureaucramancer keeps a guild-scoped searchable record only where the Archive module and Discord permissions allow it.
What is archived
Archive records can include Discord message IDs, author/proxy identity information, channel/thread context, timestamps, message content, edit state, deletion state and attachment references. Attachment bytes are separate and are only protected when Attachment Protection succeeds.
Tupper and proxy attribution
Bureaucramancer can associate proxy/Tupper messages with the underlying Discord account using available audit information and stored identity mappings. Attribution is administrative evidence, not a guarantee of authorship in every edge case.
Search access
Search is scoped to the selected guild and the signed-in/command user's authorised access. Sensitive search and export actions are audited. The plaintext search phrase is not duplicated into the audit record; the audit stores a fingerprint, query length and result count.
Deleted messages
If a message was archived before deletion, Bureaucramancer can preserve the archived record and deletion state. Discord audit logs alone do not recreate deleted message content. A message that was never captured cannot be reconstructed later.
Retention
Archive retention is configurable between 7 and 30 days, with a 30-day default. Server operators should choose the shortest period that still meets their documented purpose.
Reconstructed records
Recovered messages are posted by Bureaucramancer as clearly labelled reconstructed archive records. They retain available original author/proxy name, timestamp and message ID but are not impersonated original Discord messages.
